1. My magazine contents page will feature up and coming artists, new track releases, Dubstep related facts and information, topics for different subject matters and images to accompany main articles.

2. Each article would be spread out throughout the magazine, I will do this with additional information inbetween them, to spread them out. Each article will have it's own subheading and  any information will not be cluttered as i don't want to stear away from my target audience.

3. My target audience has a shorter attention span to the average magazine customer, therefor I cannot keep the topic going for too long. I would say at most is a double page spread for one article, unless it was spread out subtlely.

4. I am sticking to the one genre which is Dub Step as my music magazine specialises in Dub Step. I will feature new, up and coming artists and older experienced artists to provide variety and information the reader will not know.

5. Dark black background with neon element s and contrasting colours.

6. I will have a more relaxed approach to my contents page as this is what my magazine will contain and I want the target audience to be able to easily navigate and find what they are looking for. They should also be blown away by the headlines and pictures, wanting to read all of the articles at once!

Magazine Photography

  I took a range of different photos I could use for my features page,

these two were my favourite close ups, they consist of a set up, DJ enviroment. 

I used a red light bulb to capture the red neon like brand identity within. Also using my subwoofers, amp, monster energy cans, cd's, light and flat cap/hoodie I captured my ideal set up with the information i have on the target audience. These photos have not been edited, however if I were to use them I would blur out the unnecessary background and focus more on the Artists face.                     

Reader Profile Research

This Uncut magazine has a very useful reader profile. It is brightly coloured and intresting to whoever will read it. The institution will find that it contains handy information about the ideal reader of Uncut magazines and will be able to produce and update issues specifically aimed at the target audience.

This NME magazine has a fairly good reader profile. The main factor which makes it so good is that they use quotes from NME readers to show what they like about the magazine. This helps the institute to know the readers are happy with certain aspects of the magazine. They also use a few key pieces of information saying what the ideal reader or target audience is like.

Creating a features page

questionnaire responce

I have put together a questionaire with some key questions that will help me to create a feature page for my music magazine. I went and asked a series of questions to 14 people who have an intrest in this genre of music. Using questions such as how long have you listened to dubstep for? and who are your top 2 favourite producers? I can conclude what to feature on this page.

As my results show a correlation with my prediction on the ideal reader I previously did, I am confident on what to include. Overall there was not a wide range of favourite dubstep producers but Rusko and new producer Genetix ( formally known as Hoax and Tron) stole the spot for this one.

Using my data I can include up and coming information on these artists and help people to discover many secrets to this genre or "lifestyle" quoted by Netsky and I can show a list of up and coming raves, festivals and gigs to help the audience enjoy it to a whole new level!
